At the current Natural Beekeeping meeting in Pasadena during honey tasting my mention of Buckwheat Honey, that has been perhaps not provided for tasting, offered beekeepers outside of Southern Ca a winch on their faces. Yuk! In comparison, hillcrest Mikolich's 2016 Buckwheat Honey won the National Good Food Award. The Buckwheat plant outside Southern Ca is Fagopyrum esculentum. Our Buckwheat, Eriogonum fasciculatum, had been a steller bloomer in 2010 helping the bees make some of the greatest honey in the field and, it is local for the County. It is certainly one of my preferences and you may find it lives in my store.

There isn't any official advised activity for beekeepers to just take though I want to give my bees to try and keep them residence.

All the pre-ordered Wildflower Meadows queen bees should be showing up to the shop Saturday July 16, 2016 and will be offered between 11-5. It is PRIDE occasion day. The parade is starting at 11:00 at typical Street down University Av to 6th Av. to Balboa Park.
