Beekeeping creates a proper sense of community in Victoria
Since 2010, we put in nine beehives in Victoria but trained neighborhood employees and residents as beekeepers. There are more than a dozen experienced beekeepers in Victoria that have attended two courses operate by Urban Bees that concentrate on the principle and practical components of metropolitan beekeeping.
Installing the hives ended up being the beginning of the storyline so we have actually supplied continuous help and follow-up beekeeping education that features mentoring. We hold ‘bee socials’ and morning meal meetings throughout the beekeeping season from April to late September in which beekeepers share ideas, tales and guidance.
We assisted Bee Collective located in Eccleston destination get underway working specifically with London beekeepers. Bee Collective processes honey and promotes habitats for honey bees and wild pollinators across London. Caroline Birchall works the collective with volunteers whom jar and process honey from London’s beekeepers. A year ago, Bee Collective extracted almost 500kg of honey from 27 apiaries across London and loaded almost 4000 jars!
The Victoria BID features opened possibilities. We socialise and we also do our bit for environment.
